CourierCop Help
Getting started
CourierCop checks your courier bills against your own rate card and your Shopify orders. It shows where you were charged more than you should have been, and helps you ask for that money back.
CourierCop is made for Indian stores that ship with Indian couriers. Money is shown in ₹.
Before you start
- A Shopify store in India (INR).
- A billing file from your courier or aggregator. See Download your bill.
- Your rate card or contract rates, if you have them. If not, CourierCop can work out the rates from your bill (see Couriers and rate cards).
1. Install the app
Install CourierCop from the Shopify App Store and approve the permissions. The app then reads your products, locations and orders from the last 60 days, and keeps up with new orders. This runs in the background. You can start setup while it runs.
The app reads only the delivery pincode, city, state and country of an order. It does not keep your customers' names, phone numbers, emails or street addresses. See the FAQ.
2. Do the 3-step setup
New stores land on the Welcome page. Click Start setup. The setup asks three things.
- Who bills you for shipping? Pick the aggregator or courier whose bill you will check first, for example Shiprocket or Delhivery. If most of your last 60 days of shipments went with one courier, CourierCop suggests it. You can add the others later.
- Upload last month's billing report. Download it from your provider's panel as CSV, Excel or PDF, then upload it. Choose the billing period. The invoice number is optional. CourierCop reads the file, usually in under a minute. If it does not know a column name, it asks you to match the columns once. It remembers your choice for this provider's next bills. No bill yet? You can go on and type your rates first.
- Add the rates. These are the prices your courier agreed with you, before GST. You can type them in, upload a rate sheet, or let CourierCop work them out from your bill. See Couriers and rate cards.
You can leave setup and come back. It opens on the step where you stopped.
3. See your first result
After the rates step, CourierCop checks every shipment on the bill against your rates. You then see a line like "We found ₹X on this bill", or "Everything on this bill matches your rates". Click See findings to open the list.
No bill handy? Try with sample data
On the Welcome page, click Try with sample data. The app fills itself with a made-up courier bill, orders and findings, so you can look around. A banner says "You're viewing sample data". When you are done, click Clear sample data, then set up with your own bill.
4. Check the findings
Go to Money to recover in the menu. The Findings tab lists shipments that were billed above your rate card. Open one to see what was charged, what was expected and why. Read Understanding findings first.
5. Make your first claim
- Upload a bill. We prepare draft claims for the findings we're sure about (Starter plan and above).
- Open Money to recover → Claims to send them.
- Copy the letter or download the PDF and send it to your courier yourself, by email or in the courier's portal. CourierCop does not send it for you.
- On the claim, click Mark submitted and enter the date you sent it.
- When the courier answers, record the answer. When money arrives, record the payment.
Details are in Claims. Claims need the Starter plan or above. See Plans and billing.
